Excavation, Trenching and Earth Removal

- A Work Permit must be taken for any excavation or earth removal inside the existing process plant premises from Site-In charge & Safety officer, as the area of construction work has underground pipelines, cables etc.

- The contractor shall ensure the safety and stability during the excavation of the adjacent structures, etc

- Open excavations shall be properly fenced off by railing and putting warning signals at nearby places so as to make person aware that excavation is under progress thus prevent persons from falling into the excavations.

- Any blasting operations shall be carried out on the basis of approved procedures by Inspector of explosives. Proper Barricading, Warning signs etc. shall be placed on the roads / open area which are easily visible to all from distance.

- Wherever manual removal of earth is involved, the removal of earth shall be removed from the top by maintaining the proper slope which shall be equal to the angle of re-pose of the earth. lowering of person in a pit should be done properly with tripod and pulley besides use of Safety belt by person.

- Such work shall be supervised by the experienced safety person.
